A palatal expander "expands" (or widens) your upper jaw by putting gentle pressure outward on your upper molars. This can correct crossbites and/or create more space to resolve crowding. The video and photos below will instruct you how to do turns. Typically, an expander is turned daily for 2-4 weeks and then maintained in place for 6-9 months. However, this can vary so please always follow the advise of Dr. Meinhardt.
